Bio

Dr. Bert Bubela

Dr. Bert Bubela was born and raised in El Campo, Texas. He did his undergraduate study at the University of Houston. He graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry Summa Cum Laude in 2000. He and his wife, Dr. Leslie Bubela, established Little Elm Eye Care in April of 2004.

Dr. Bert is licensed and therapeutically certified in Texas. He is also a certified Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. In 2013, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. His interests include ocular disease and contact lenses. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.

When away from the office, Dr. Bert spends most of his time with his wife, Leslie, and their two children. He enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and playing the guitar.

Bio

Dr. Leslie Bubela

Dr. Leslie Bubela was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but spent much of her time growing up in Duncanville, Texas. She did her undergraduate work at Texas A&M University. She graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry Summa Cum Laude in 2000. She and her husband, Dr. Bert Bubela, established Little Elm Eye Care in April of 2004.

Dr. Leslie is licensed and therapeutically certified in Texas. She is also a certified Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Her interests include primary care, ocular disease, and contact lenses. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.

Dr. Leslie has been married to her husband, Bert, since 2000. She stays busy with her two children, and she loves being outdoors.

Dr. Heather Porter

Dr. Heather Porter was raised in Flower Mound, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Texas A&M University. She obtained her doctorate degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry Summa Cum Laude in 2013. After practicing in the Flower Mound area for over a decade, Dr. Porter joined Little Elm Eye Care in 2024.

Dr. Porter is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist in the state of Texas. Her passion is for myopia management and slowing the progression of nearsightedness in children through specialty contact lenses and medication.

Outside of work, Dr. Porter and her husband stay very busy trying to keep up with their three rambunctious boys. She also enjoys traveling, doing various crafts, and a good cup of jasmine tea.

Dr. Ryan Hazlehurst

Dr. Ryan Hazlehurst grew up in Forsyth, a small rural town in central Illinois.
